Where can I sleep with my RV?

In Iceland and since 2015, wild camping is prohibited and subject to heavy fines. This recent legislation is intended to protect the vegetation that grows very slowly and takes a long time to regenerate. But don't panic, the country is very well equipped with campgrounds. So you won't have too much trouble finding a place to spend the night!

We also suggest you buy a 'camping card', which will give you access to dozens of campsites all around Iceland. This card is valid for 28 nights for a maximum of 2 adults and 4 children under 16.

Campsites

Indeed, Iceland is well developed in terms of campgrounds. In order to refine your search and find your ideal place to sleep during your trip, we advise you the applications iOverlander, Park4night or Caramaps

To make a reservation at a campsite, you will need to know the length of your vehicle and the number of people. Be careful to book sites that allow motorhomes.

Prices vary greatly depending on the season, the destination and the number of services offered. Remember to reserve your sites in advance during the summer season. Being the most popular, some campsites may be full quickly.
