Minimum age for renting a car in United Kingdom

Before renting a car in the United Kingdom, make sure that the main driver and additional drivers are all at least 23 years of age.

Also note that drivers must have at least one year of driving experience to rent a car with us.

Drivers between the ages of 23 and 25 will be subject to a higher security deposit than drivers 25 and older. This deposit, taken as a hold on the credit card of the main driver at the time of pick-up, corresponds to the deductible to be paid in case of an accident (£500 to £1000).

When you return your United Kingdom car hire after your road trip, this deposit will be released immediately and all data and confidential information linked to the card will be deleted.

Please note that you will also be asked to pay an additional fee for your car rental if you are between the ages of 23 and 25 (about £25 / day depending on the renter). This amount covers the additional insurance required for young drivers.

Finally, 23 and 25-year-olds can drive the following vehicles: sub-compact, compact and standard.

For insurance reasons, again, 23-25 year old drivers cannot drive a 4x4 or minivan.
