The main airports in Italy 
 

The two main international airports in Italy are Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino, but there are plenty of other options throughout the country. So here's the important information at all the country's main airports.


Authentik tip: For airport/hotel transfers from the city center, opt for the shuttle service or cab: it's cheaper than a day's car rental + parking fees (20 EUR to 25 EUR per day) + the stress of driving in an unfamiliar city.

Bus service:

- omnibuses serve the city center from the airport, leaving every 15 minutes and taking around 40 minutes (BUS #5 from ATVO)

- with the same company, you have the option of the blue bus, which has the advantage of being direct (20 minutes instead of 40).

Cost: 8 euros

Cab boat: Original but expensive (rate for groups of 10 people, non-modifiable), minimum 100 euros

Shuttle service: "Alibus Terravision" bus serves Piazza Garibaldi (the main station), Immacolatella/Porta di Massa and Molo Angioino/Beverello (the ferry terminal). The journey takes 20 minutes, and you can take the metro from the main station for EUR 5.

 

PALERMO AIRPORT

Cab: About 40 minutes, between 35 and 45 euros

Shared cab "Taxi collettivo "*: A shared cab service (*a minimum of 4 passengers is required, the fare is 6 euros, whatever your stop in town, there is no meter. You share the fare with other travelers), available on the arrivals side, costs 8 euros, very economical.

Shuttle service: Terravision buses take you to Palermo city center, the journey takes 60 minutes and the bus runs every 30 minutes, 6 euros.
